RE: blue smoke at high RPM's
bud I believe that these cars are not intended for DD status( just my $.02.) Its like a nice resteraunt that you go to everyday. After a while its just ordinary

my car does not smoke but burns around 1 quart per 1000 miles
solution
buy beater car to drive.... rebuild engine, possibly forged

i'm lookin for a small truck... ranger, S10 with a 4 banger or a small 6 engine... there are a ton of old ones for around 500 bucks but none by me, and all just need some simple repair/maintenance stuff and they are good to go
yeah i love my car but I too think it wasn't intended to be a DD but oh well

The suggestion of a Compression Test is the best idea yet..
Why yank the heads if you don't have to?? Dry Compression test it for Valve train leaks, wet compression for rings...
Lather, rinse and repeat...

hmm that seems like a good idea and not expensive....how do you do a wet compression test i have never heard of that or dry...i didnt know there were diff. ones. COuld you give me a little advise on how to use and diagnose the problem once i have the readings from the gauge. Thanks guys

Dry compression test is done by just pumping the cylinder full of air @ TDC, and when it starts to leak, write down the number.. You can build your own pressure tester, but I believe you can rent them at Autozone, or a parts store that's similar.. If you can't build pressure that way, or enough to get a good reading, then you move on to the wet test..
A wet test is done by using a little oil in the cylinder. This fills some of the gaps, so you can at least get a good reading for pressure amounts..
