Default some questions for u 46er's

ok today a friend just a bought a 97 cobra and wants to mod it to beat me with my 5.0. i am not to familar with 4.6 and thought i would come on here and ask what all he would have to do to it to accomplish his goal. now when i say that i know poeple will say supercharger but i highly doubt that would happen netime in the near future and it will more than likely be a bolt on process.

i do know he already has a strong power plant with the dohc cobra motor. so what would he need to beat me motor for motor.

first of i know gears now my friends step in

That depends,, motor for motor.. we' have to know what times you are running with your stroker

I can give you an estimate of what a full bolt on SN-Cobra can run with DR's however

LT's, midpipe, catback, pullies, intake, t/b, plenum, 4.10s-4.30's, nice DR's, and good driver mod could see a 12.8-13.0 I would guess

full bolt on 99-04GT's see anything from a 13.0-13.2.. so his CObra should be good for a bit better than what a GT would run.

anyoen else think this sounds about accurate?

The '97 is a 4V, right? With full bolt ons, I'd think he would be much deeper into the 12's. However, when it comes to time slips, I'm not good at estimating.

Well I basically just raced your car last night and stayed with it till atleast 80mph. He needs to do pretty much evrything I have (full bolt-on) Start with gears and the aluinum drive shaft. Then go to work on the motor. He probably wont need evrything but the major stuff, udp's, full intake and exhaust and maybe heads?

Gears/nitrous/exhaust.

Even on all motor, a full boltons 4v should see mid/high 12s. On the bottle he could be into the 11s.
