2004 GT oil/filter?

RE: 2004 GT oil/filter?
i've heard pennzoil is crap... but then again, oil is oil and it has to be made to certain standards for it to be sold
You can also look at the back... look at the little seal of approval... it will say something like "SG SL SM"
you want the letter closest to Z in the alphabet as possible... the closer it is, the higher quality. SG and SH are crap... SL and SM are good quality

How does it come in only synthetic???? I have always used Castrol GTX in all my vehicles and it comes in 5w20 and it's not a synthetic oil, also, for my last change I bought some cheap valvoline stuff, 5w20 and it didn't say anything about being synthetic,,,,,, both oils specifically state that they are Ford and whatever approved for 5w 20 motors??????

off the castrol site, this is GTX
is a premium, multi-grade oil, providing cold start protection with Exceptional Fuel Economy. SAE 5W-20 exceeds API service SM, SL, SJ and SH, as well as exceeding ILSAC GF-4/GF-3/GF-2 for API Certified Gasoline Engine Oils. Exceeds Ford specifications WSS M2C153-H and WSS M2C930-A. Exceeds the service fill requirements of Ford, Onda and Chrysler where SAE 5W-20 motor oil is specified. SAE 5W-20 should only be used in vehicles where SAE 5W-20 is recommended by manufacturer

I wouldn't know cause I always run GTX, but I didn't notice any difference between whatever the ford dealership used and gtx. Could it be the filter your running? perhaps slightly more restrictive impeding flow? I just throwing out an Idea, I am adding a tranny oil and engine oil cooler soon anyway, so no worries here, but I do stand by GTX, My Mom used that in her 86 VW sirocco, got over 400,000 hard miles out of it, only maintnence was oil changes, then the tranny went, not the motor
