I just sold the 4Runner and am getting a GT FINALLY!!! [sm=drooldude.gif]

I was looking for a 2001 model, but then I started looking at 99-00 and noticed that i can get a low mileage 99-00 for under 9,500 while i can't find an 01' with a clean title for under 10,000. The only difference I've noticed is the 01 and up come with a non-functional raised hood scoop compared to the 99-00. Is there anything else? maybe traction control? rims? anything?

some of the 01s come with a better trany.

mid 2001 they changed the transmission, water pump, spoiler and they added a hood scoop. I have a 2000, I would probably try to hold out and get a 2001 because my tranny is a POS.

engine is also different..
00 has a Windor block/heads with all Plastic PI intake....01's went back to Romeo block/heads and started getting updated PI intakes...some have all plastic though.

how much did you get for the 4runner, I am selling the 98 Limited I just got for 2,500 and they book around 15k, this thing is loaded. She didn't know what she had.

The headlights are different also, i know it's not a big deal as you can buy the 01 headlights and put them on a 99-00 i'm sure, autotrader.com will tell you the difference if you click on details after you found a car

The Windsor block is slightly better than the Romeo block, so not completely true about 01>00
