Default auto's 60' times with stock stall converter

what are you guys hitting for 60' times in your stock stalled automatic. i hit a 1.81 with the nittos last year and a few 1.9s but this year at 2.0'. my best is like a 2.051 and it sucks because i have a drag suspension but my stock stall converter is killing me.

It sounds like your whole set up is starting to wear down...

What are your ET's/Trap speeds like?? Are they less, same or more than last year?? What about your suspension, still in great shape??

nah i just did the suspension over the winter. i have yet to install the front drag springs though since im waiting to do that with new struts. but still i figure i could hit some 1.8x the way it is now. i really think its these s!tty nittos. they have only worked for one run this year and other than that lousy hooking issues. im trapping 111 and on 2.0 60's hitting 12.4 but i know its a 12 flat car with a decent 60'

Your speed is still a little low for there to be excessive wheel spin... In my AWD that I used to race, I hit a 12.4 @ 110, and that's w/ some wheel spin....

Have you done any lightening?? I'm one of the biggest proponents of tossing unnecessary sh-t from my car. In fact, if you drop 200lbs, you could reasonably shave .2 off your entire E/T, just launching the way you are..

How many runs do you have on the Nittos?? How much have you driven on them??

YOu go up last night? Maybe the track just sucks, I couldn't get any traction when I went up there...... Or possibly your tires just arent as sticky as they were a year ago,

you should do a lot better with the front drag suspension. are you going to put drag struts in also? 90/10's would probably suck for the road, but the weight transfer you got would be awesome! nittos arent bad, they just arent the top of the line either.

the nittos are about a year old and i drive daily on them. they are 315/35's and grip great on the street but haven't had too much luck with them at the track. yeah i went up last night and it kinda sucked for traction last night. and im doing strange 10-way adjustables so i can just adjust when i go to the track and back when im on the street.

your saying an awd car trapping a mph lower than me was spinning a little but a rwd car trapping a little higher shouldn't be spinning as much? i don't get it. but i wish i could drop 200lbs but i don't know where i could get that much. i took out all the seats and the spare tire is gone with the jack etc. i could do a lighter k-member but i'd rahter do a stall and cams or even headers for that matter.

Trap speed is more affected by your power to weight ratio. ET would be more affected by the 60' times.

If you're having trouble hooking up, I'd say replace the tires first. You may want to try DOT drag radials, especially if you go to a higher stall converter...

I can get about 2.0 60's on decent weather with a stock mustang which means stock stall converter. A few days ago I only cut a best of 2.13 but either way I'm surprised yours isn't any better. Try working on suspension. Straighten the car out if it isn't leaving straight. I'm just trying to give ideas. With my camaro the car wasn't leaving straight. We put air bags in the rear springs and were straighter and picked up a tenth. Suspension is key these days.
