Default I did a bad thing!!

When I was cleaning my IAC the other day I decided to take off my plenum and throttle body to clean them as well. When I was putting the plenum back on i was tightning one of the screws that go into the intake manifold from the plenum and the screw broke off in the threads!!!!! Does anyone know how to fix this???? I'll try to post some pics later.

is there any part of the screw sticking out of the intake manifold where it broke off? Or is it flush with the threads? Either way drilling it out and getting an easy out should do the trick

how tight were you trying to make it??

The rest of the screw is from about half way fom the top to the bottom of the thread. The wierd thing is is that i wasnt even tightning it that hard the thing just broke off.

I've had this happen before (not on that part) but it's a pita. Approx how large is the bolt that's still in there? (diameter) and woudl you be able to drill a hole in the middle of it, to feed an easy out? They go pretty small

If part of the bolt is still sticking out some, try to get some vise grips on there as hard as you possibly can and try to back it out that way.

If that doesn't work, your going to have to drill/easy out it like everyone else mentioned.

Did you cross the threads?

that freaking sucks. This happened to us putting an intake spacer on my friends mach 1. Good luck getting it out. Also the sell the bolts at ace hardware and they are much stronger then stock ones.

you probably cross threaded it which made it snap obviously, best thing to do is try to drill it out if there is nothing sticking out and retap if possible. good luck dude
