hey i just got a 1998 gt mustang and it only gots flowmasters and its a 5 speed i want to now what i would get out of the 3:73 gears then the ones it already has stock.would it be better 1/4 or 0-60's or accelartion.
*As I understand* Lower gears (like 3.73's) will give better acceleration and quarter mile times, but you can't top out as high. I also think it throws off your speedometer and presumably your odometer as well. Some say it also makes for worse gas mileage. But I've seen a 2002 GT have em put on and it was worth it.

It was worth it to me... Screw the gas milliage...It will be worth it to you also...And he's right it does mess up your speedometer, but you can have that fixed....
If you put 3.73 it would substantialy help your quarter mile and 0-60 times. You can wind out in fifth higher and wont lose any top speed, you might even gain a little. you even hook up better because your tires dont spin as fast.

GEF racing has FRPP gears up to 4:10 for $139. They also sell the bearing kit. If you are planning on supercharging your car, get 3:73's. If you are going to keep it NA, get 4:10's.
