Default will tires help?

hey everyone. i have heard that newer stangs have alot of trouble hookin up when the car is floored. And wherever i heard that the were completely right, lol. I was wondering if getting some wider tires would help. i have a 04 mach and it spinns like a b****. I was noticing how it seemed like the tires on the mach were alot skinnier than the tires my 02 firehawk. what size tires should i get if it would help?and should i get et streets or et drags? and im not goin to be puttin on tires everytime i go to the track so count that in too. and plus i should be gettin my 4.10's in tomorrow and a steeda tri axe shifter here pretty soon. thanks for the help guys.

Just get some drag radials. I am very happy with my Nitto NT 555R drag radials, with regular 555r tires up front. Plenty of traction, doesnt do to bad in the rain (although it won't be as stable as regular radials) and you get at least a halfway decent amount of tire life on them. (was told somewhere along the lines of 10-14k on the rears)

If you can afford to replace tires every few thousand miles you can go with BFG drag radials, but I cant see them being that much better for the trade off.

BTW my drag radials were 160 each, and the fronts were like 119 apiece. Much cheaper than oversize tires/rims.

I have heard the mickeys are even worse than the BFGs for tire wear. One guy on the tire site I bought mine (cant remeber which one it was) was saying he got like 4 1/4 mile runs and burnouts on em and they were done.

for an everyday driver, i have the bfg dr's and they weren't too bad. they are slicks now. i had made about 35 passes/burnouts at the track, drove the car everyday and they still had tred.

1 vote for the bfg dr's

Go with BFG or nothing at all.

The problem people have with BFG's wearing extremely fast, BFG's DO NOT NEED TO BE HEATED. No burn out, skip the water and spin the tires for a quick second to clean them...

they don't, but at VMP you get all kinds of rocks stuck to your tires... a quick spin doesn't do much for that problem.. i had to burn em everytime.... sucks when you are a budget racer... thats why i am still riding on BFG DR/Slicks lol

My main motivation for the Nitto's was the fact they last so much longer, and after a massive fire burning burnout I think they grab just as well - or at least verrrrrrrry close.

bfgoodrich, by far the best drag radial, but shortest lasting of the bunch
