I posted this in the SVT forum but not too many people post in that so I'll post it here too. Im looking to buy a used Cobra preferably a 2001. I was wondering how much do you think I should spend because a lot of the dealerships around here are trying to rip me off, what else is new [:'(] Anyways, any comments are appreciated.

Go to WWW.Kbb.com or WWW.NADA.COM and look up the retail value off of milage and go from there. I would go with a '03 by the way!

'03 > '01 Cobra. I think there are a lot of similiarities in the engines. Both are DOHC and 32V. I think the '01 has an aluminum block where the '03 has an iron block, of course I'm talking kinda out of my *** on this. I'm sure of the SVT gurus will help you more. '03 has a 6-speed, where the '01 only comes with a 5-speed. '03 is already blown which will make modding it much easier. '03 = 390 underrated hp, '01 = 320hp. Just some numbers and my

wow... 18!!! you better consider insurance also then. I have a '02 GT and on my record is 1 speeding ticket and an at fault accident from three years ago (its coming off next time I renew ) and im 24 and my insurance runs me 280 a month. But I pay it all off for 5 months so I get a small cut off of that. Just look into it if you havent already.

Just seen where you are the author of the thread....disregard all my info about the '03.

JDaniel....dude, you're getting ripped a new one. It was $3900 a year for me to have a C5 Vette....I have 6 points on my insurance. I advise looking elsewhere.
