On hypertech.com you can purchase a devise that allows you to access the computer system and tune in a lot of extra HP. fact or fiction ? Has anyone purchased one of these devices ? If so, does it work ?

Depends on what particular car and previous mods you're talking about. 03 Cobra with chip, pulley, and exhaust I've seen dyno as high as 470rwhp. If that's what you're talking about then it is possible but the other two mods are needed to acheive those numbers. If you're talking about just another Mustang then it's a marketing gimmic.

hyper tech and diablo. tap into your puter to modify timing A/F and other things but on a stock car it will do very little. the 50hp or so was prob on a S/C car that was modded to hell. these flash tuners are good if u are mildly moded to extremly moded. dont bother with them till then.

its also a waste of money if you don't know what you are doing with the programer. i've seen a lot of guys/girls that think they know what they are doing with the programer so they up the timming and end up having some detonation... if you do get it, read up on it first...

i've seen it with my own two eyes. a dude with a lightning went and bought a diablo predator and uped the timming by a huge number.. .i think it was somewhere up in the high 30's.. i didn't even know that it went that high.. to keep a long story short, they are in the process of bulding a new motor with all kinds of goodies... i think daddy has lots of money

30s holly crap what was he thinking. omg isnt ours supposed to be set around 14. im taking mine to a shop so if they mess it up they are forking over some money.

Ive seen 100+ hp on a diesel truck before with a programmer :P

But any other stock or mildly modded car is only gonna see 8 - 15 or so hp, I don't see even supercharged cars getting 50hp
