Default Want to drop a new 4.6 motor in - What do you think?

Ok heres the deal. I have a 97 mustang GT with a far amount of bolt ons, but it has 106,000 miles on it. I want to do a new motor, trans and rear.

What do you guys think I should do?
New motor?
Stoker?
What do ya think?

Also, were can I get 4.6 motor or stokers kits?

Has any1 done this?

Thanks alot

"if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Why replace the tranny and rear? I wouldn't rebuild anything, including an engine, no matter how many miles are on it unless it needs to be. But if you insist, more power to ya. Stroker kits are gonna get expensive though! Real expensive.

yeah i get what your saying, but the motor is gettin " old " and i want more power and a lot more speed. I wanna s/c it sometime down the road, but how long will my 100,000 mile motor hold? I also figure, do it all in one shot - motor, trans, rear. I have about 8-10 g's to spends so $ isnt a problem.

Now, where can i get it all? i dunno?

if you have that much money to spend, i'd simply buy a new GT and procharge it or buy a cobra. if keeping your GT is a must, buy a pro mod longblock from DSS, or a 302 crate engine from VT engines. throw in a TKO tranny and some moser 31 spline axles, and you should be able to get it done around that price. try ti find a local shop that does major stuff like this and ask them to help you decide.

Yeah what you just said BCisme is just what i want to do. I tryed to sell my GT and just couldnt get what i wanted for it.

i just spend 3,500 to get it re-painted and 3,000 on wheels and a few dress up things. I was at a party and some1 ( random ) spray painted my car and my buddy. We found out who it was and they payed for it.

So i figure, i just did all this exterier work, now i wanna make it as fast as it looks.

Also who is DSS and VT?

thanks

i wouldnt pay the extra money for a pre assembled short block from dss, vt, or shm. how much are you looking to spend? ide recomend pi head swap, forged bottum end, and some kind of power adder.
