I was wanting know that besides the fact that the '97 cobra has around 40 more HP then the GT and runs the 1/4 mile .1 faster (or so my sources show) are there any reall differences between the two? (performance wise not style)

well.....to start things off the cobra is a 4 valve motor, while the gt is a 2 valve motor. the cobra makes 305 hp, and the gt makes 260. I'm not a expert at cobras but i am sure they have upgraded brakes, springs, sway bars, susp., etc.

so is the fact that the cobra is 4v about the only diff? I know it puts out more HP but it seems like there 1/4 mile isnt much better then the Gt.

the 99 +GT will beat the cobra.cobras are slow up entill 03 and 04. thats my opinion dont take it to heart. i beat a 97 cobra with my formula and i got a 14.7 in that at the track.

If you beat one running a 14.7 then it's definetly not the car...lol It was driver all the way...

I would say it would be a pretty good race between the two in the quarter...99 Cobras where the ones with the problems.. 01-02 Cobras are faster than 99+GT's...those cobras run mid 13's stock.

dont start takeing times to heart now. i new a kid that had a 96 cobra and he ran mid 14s.
but anyway im not impressed by the cobras at all except for the 03 and 04s.
like we all should know by now a 14.7 here in florida is a faster time in cooler conditions.
when i raced the cobra it was from about 20 or 30 and i just kept pulling on him.
im not a person that gives a **** if you beleve me or not. but i also dont make up ****

The cobra might not be impressive on a drag couse, but on a circle track i bet it is.
