midnight - get gears and tune - you will thank me later, lol. one of the only mods you will actually see the difference with. I would also def. get the MGW. Gears 150 + tuner 400 + install 200 = 750.. MGW shifter = 180 = 930 total.

save another grand and buy a used s/c system!
Yeah, but then he'll need a s/c intercooler, possibly new rods, etc.
Where have you seen a s/c for 2k?
well maybe when you become familiar with the site and your mustang you can find one and know what your talking about....
btw - he can find a used intercooled system for 2k pretty regularly - and no he wouldnt have to have new rods.

Gee, it's real hard to become familiar with this site (duh, uhm, do you mean I need to search the classifieds?)
All I was suggesting in response to your suggestion was that there were other things to possibly contend with if you go the s/c route, thus costing even more $$$$ (do you think for a moment someone's not going to chime in about the potential for new rods, etc. - give us a break) He wants to spend $1,000 - stick to his original question!

Well mfy, he asked the question what should he do with it and IMO... having already bought every bolt on - I think we would be much happier with a s/c, in retrospect I should have listened to the elders on here bought a s/c myself... but saving 2 0r 3k isnt easy more me [&:] (live in girlfreind)

Brandasman... the s/c is setup is going to cost you atleast 3k plus install. Yes you can find used ones, but i'd like to see one COMPLETE s/c kit for 2500 bucks... The cars that are already blown you can, because you don't need a lot of other things, but for the most part you'll need other things in order to do it. You're also forgetting install and tune... which can be a lot depending on the condition of your car, but you need more then a s/c to hang with the real fast cars out there.. like supporting mods, gears things like that - you need to buy a tuner with a s/c anyway so it's better to have it - more free flowing exhaust, etc.
When you're looking at bang for the buck and under 1,000.. the only thing better then gears, is nitrous. You still need a tune for that anyway!
Do you plan on adding a blower/Nitrous to your car? What are your plans? Regardless, I would still do: Gears, Tune, Short throw... you can find an o/r midpipe gently used for 80-100 bucks like I did mine.. x or h... Again: Gears inc install = 350 + 400 for tune + 180 short throw = 930 - giving you an extra 70 bucks... get another 30-40 and get the midpipe... install isn't to hard if you have a lift or a friend... Also, you won't need any o2 extensions or mil eliminators if you have a tuner where they turn off your o2 sensors.

You can get your car supercharged, with tune and all for under 3k...I'll be doing it when I get my used mongoose kit this coming week. Then I will just install it myself and be good to go.
Btw, intercoolers are NOT required to get your car boosted. I'll be going with a non I/C'd setup for now and saving up to add on an Air to Air intercooler later on.
