Default TRACK DAY!!

well guys im makin my first passes at the track today. im not quite sure how im gonna launch, i think im going to rev up to around 3500 then feather it to elimate wheel spin, is that smart or????? ill let u guys know how i run later. also on another note i put in a new trans and clutch, and wen i sit in nuetral w/ the clutch disengaged there is a pretty distinct noise coming from the trans, ive seen acouple posts about a loud throw out bearing in the king cobra clutches, could this be that? and is there any problems other than it jus bieng a noise?? thanks alot guys

3500 is too high on street tires.

I'd suggest 2500 and feather it.

like dan said, come down in the rpm's and try to find that sweet spot. find that spot where you are not going to BOG and where you are not going to spin alot. the top end in the 4.6 is your friend. good luck and let us know how it goes.

I roast my tires pretty well then I launch just a notch above Idle. If I do anymore then I get terrible wheel spin that can hardly be controlled.

Go on a back road and practice a few times .. That way you have a idea of where your car is gonna slip.Remember itll slip more on street cause the track is preped a little and has lots of rubber spots. Good luck.. And have fun!

Your engine bogged down from a take off at 3500rpm's? You might wanna have that looked at. LOL I have never heard, seen, felt or done anything like that in my car. It has a very strong takeoff from that kind of rpm. In fact all I do is spin. LOL

if you do it too slow, it will do that. when you are at the track, you will get the hang of it and find that sweet spot.

thats if you can get more than 2 runs in. at VMP on a friday night, you would be lucky if you can get 2 runs. everyone seems to break on a friday night.... [:@]
