RE: wheels...
why not 20's they fit real snug. 18's are for civics

20" is a dont do it on a Mustang, period. 18"s are the biggest i'd go.
I know you said you wanted to keep the tires, but I would really do some searching if you're going to get some 17x9's.. they'll be fine, but imo, they look a little off, normally if you have a 17x9 you want to run 275's atleast. the 245 on a 17x9 should work fine, but it might look a little off (depending on the brand tire you have) - before you buy them, I would really suggest finding some pictures of them to make sure you like them.

er no they look pimp, saw one last week with 20x10 on rear lowered 2 inch & it looked amazing. they were only 1500 bucks. 17's & 18's are kiddys wheels now.

20s look bad on new edge sn95s... they only look OK on the 05+

20x9 front & 20x10 beep dish chrome on rear is the only way to go.

yes you can run a 17 x 9. Alot of people around my home town run 245/45s on a 17 x 9. Some people recommend not to, but I really see no issue, the wheel looks fine on the tire. Thats whats on the front of my car. If you buy 17 x 8 anything you'll be dissapointed with the stance, also you may want to consider going with 17 x 10.5s on the back and buying tires for the back only... gives them a mean look.

RE: wheels...
It figures you have a "232" you don't plan on going fast, just looking good I guess (better watch out for your intake and your 30 shot (i might faint)).. go ahead and get your 20" rims... and have fun with that.. but there's a reason a real mustang owner doesn't put them on... and that's not a knock on v6's - i definatly don't want that vibe out there.
I agree 18's are for Hondas... 17"'s are for real street racers, and 15"s are for real track racers.
Well they can look off the reverse way of putting a 275 on a 17x8... for instance it bulges... the 245 on the wider rim, might not fill out the rim... That's what I mean... but there are different looks, for instance my tires normally should go on the 17x10.5" rim not the stock 17x9 - but the brand I have doesnt bulge like the other brands do so im ok with them... you dont have to worry about bulging, you have to worry about the tires being to small for the rim... and it looking like the tire doesn't fill the rim out - thats what i meant.

To each thier own I guess.. im 21 and affording my car which is always nice.... why get a GTO when you can get a much nicer and faster car (Ford and GM alike) - but if you like the Grand a.. I mean GTO's that much then like i said - to each thier own.... I still say leave 20's to SUV's... Problem with people is, that they think they're nice just because they have 20's. which isn't the case. have fun!
