Funny you should say that RJM, you cut a 1.80 on your BFG's and I cut a 1.78 on my 245 Nitto's [8D]

Not being combative, but hp has very little to do with 60' time, sure it plays some part, but I've seen stock 220 rwhp stangs lay down 1.6 60's on slicks. Im really just making an argument for Nitto's - they DO last 3x longer than BFG's and when heated right and drove right can drive right past BFG's - they just require alittle more finess.

Dont think your being combative at all, appreciate the info, and your right I have my bfgs bald now in 5 months but I go to the track almost every friday. What psi do you run them at, I am running 12 PSI at the track.

I've started at 18psi and was there for a while running 1.9 60's, went down to 16 and got some 1.85's and down to 15 and got a 1.78 and a couple 1.8's the last time out. I've found that the burnout process is key, to do a long burnout and not carry the burnout out off the box hard like I used to do. I just do the burnout (2nd gear) and when I see smoke coming good I let off the gas slowly till the tires start to grab hard and I let the tires pull me out of the box as Im gradually letting off the gas. I end up coming out of the burnout about 2 feet and I stop spinning.
I used to start the burnout and do the burnout all the way up to the line as close as I could - but that doesn't work very well for traction for some reason. I'll try 14psi next trip out but I don't know that I'll go any lower than that.

You have to rev the car a bit then drop the clutch when in second tho...
(didn't read the whole post so dont judge me!)
It just gets the tires spinning much faster heatin em up better

But be warned... it takes a little more power to start turning them over in second, so try it on a back road and not for a first time at the track in front of a lot of people. Killing your car trying to do a burn out is kinda embarrasing I would imagine. LOL
