Hi All
Right now I have a V6 Mustang, but within the next month I'll be trading it in for a 01-04 GT. Before I did, I had a few questions about the 4.6 motor. I know quite a bit about the 3.8L, but not so much about the 4.6. Here's a few of my questions:
-Just to start off, it's a 4.6L SOHC, right?
-As far as heads and intake go, is it best to port the stock ones, or just get entirely new ones?
-What are good LT header brands? The only company that made LT's for the sixer was MAC.
-Where's a good place to get cams? I found a good place for the sixer, but they only did V6's.
Also, if anyone can just give me some basic info about the engine itself. Like, I know that the 232 was originally used in the turbo Buick Grand Nationals, then Ford took the block and improved on the heads. Something along those lines.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Hi All
Well the first car to come with this motor was the 91 Lincoln Town Car. If you go to NYC and see all the damn taxi cab drivers running around with them you realize it is quite a reliable design.
SOHC yes. The intake itself isn't the restrictive part. I would just port the heads since the "aftermarket" units are just P/P stock units and don't net any real good gains for the price. Start considering either nitrous or a S/C if you want to see any real gains. MAC, SLP, BBK and stuff like that are good header brands that people use.
For cams check out www.vtengines.com but I would honestly consider some kind of FI before sinking your money into NA mods.

RE: Hi All
Well, I eventually wanted to go with a Keene Bell supercharger. But I'd like to get as much NA power as possible first.
And I just remembered, we have a 4.6L Crown Vic in school that was a taxi cab. It has over 400,000 miles on it, lol.
