HELP Tranny problem??
Hey everyone. Ok bear with me on this. When im driving and my car is either right about to shiftor my foot is lightly on the gas just to maintain speed in the gear i am in, the car jerks backwards and not just once, its a bunch of little jerks unless i take my foot off the gas or press the pedal more. Im wondering what could be causing this. I changed my plugs, and my wires and distributor are fine. Could it be a clogged filter if so where is the tranny filter?? This is an automatic with 45,000 miles on it, not driven too hard, has seen red line once. Tranny fluid is fine also.

I have a five speed and it does this. When I let off the gas, it kind of does a few slight jerks. I've just brushed it off because it just seems like it's the nature of the car. That and my car has 160K on the clock.

Are you sure your wires and distributer are fine? What test did you use to check them?

I just wrote a 2 page essay for you describing how to change your fuel filter and change your trans. filter but I got Donkey Punched by mf.com:

Anyway, seems like its just the IAC braking effect that is doing that. It would do it all the time to me to until I did the IAC mod in my sig, now I don't notice it anymore.
