TRUTH about JLT.. I want to know
Ok so i want to get an intake for my car... Intakes are cheap and look better than stock.... Soo i have been trying to choose between the JLT RAI and CAI.....
I hear dont get the CAI because it is too much hassle... But is it worth it? I am also paranoid about sucking up water like i hear of so often..
And i hear the RAI has to be cleaned VERY often... which i dont really feel like dealing with...
So for a daily driver which would be the smarter choice? I hear so much conflicting info on both of these and i just wanted to hear it from people who use them! Thanks

Honestly the difference in power gains between a drop in K&N filter and a CAI/RAI/WTFE intake will be negligable. Especially with increased heat absorbtion of the metal intake tubing (usually chromed whichs makes matters worse). Skip the fancy shiny intake and get a drop in filter and use the cash for a synthetic oil change instead.

remove your air silencer and go for the k&n...Your car actually flows pretty good stock (well as good as can be expected with a 2v) but ~$200 for maybe 5 hp is stupid IMO. Removing the Air silencer is free so do that FTW!!

I think its stupid to pay $50 for a filter when i can pay $100 more and get a full intake.

Not the drop in Box filter
Remove the box and snorkle run the stock tube.
What is the HP diff going to be ? 2 HP ?
I just went through this crap with a whistle sound from my CAI today .Took the pipe off.
And relized I wasted my damn money on a CAI. I feel no diff at all with the stock air tube back on.
So called cold air ?? I dont see how 80 plus degree's out side and 150 in the engine compartment is going to make my so called CAI pull in cold air.
Waste of money.Save it for the better mods just do the Konical filter you can always add a pipe for less later on. This isnt just geared towards Adams post its for anyone looking to waste money on a So called CAI kit
