1999 Ford Cobra EEC Questi
Anyone know how to dump the memory in the PCM/EEC? My dealer wanted to charge me $50 to dump the memory after I had a fuel pump replaced. He stated that the computer would have learned "bad habits" from the bad fuel pump and would continue to run "poorly" until I had the chip erased. I can't notice any hesitation or any abnormal behavior. My fuel mileage seems normal. I'm running a stock 99 Cobra (up to date with all recalls).

1) Should I even bother? Will the car relearn "good habits" now that the fuel pump is normal?

2) If I can't do this without a tuner, please recommend one for me and a good manual to go along with it. Even if I can do this without one, I'm thinking I'd like to have one, so please recommend one anyways.

3) Can I just pull the plug on the battery overnight to erase the codes?

Thanks!
