4.10's, cai, plenum, and good tires. 13.3 all day long, i went 13.9 on ****y tires and stock gears. and 4.10's, nitrous and a good tune say hello to 12's ask around it's been done plenty, and heads/cam gives you like 40hp right away and you will repond to any other mod so much better.

Yea im running heads and cams and i would be lucky to pull a 12.8-12.9 off.If i had money i would ofwent the s/c way but now mine is a bottle baby
With your mods list, if you didn't hit high 12s, I'd shoot myself. There are some guys running in the 12s with far less work. I think your ride will do better than 12.9.

'99 conv and 0 mods. Doesn't sound like it is worth it. See I have a 70 mach 1 that is just collecting dust and deserves a built engine. It is all done up outside and inside, just needs a hot engine. I have another 351C on standby and haven't done anything with it. Keep this in mind, since 1992 it has been driven less than 500 miles.

If you were to spend $2500, which car would you spend it on? I drive the 99 as my commuter car (sorry Gore) but I say **** it. I wanted it to be a mid 13 sec car to replace my previous car, but it will take twice the money to do so. I was hoping thatthis 4.6LV8 would respond to some quick mods and yield something fierce but it doesn't sound that way. That is fine, it forces me to focus on the car that should be getting all of the attention and will retain the $$$ put in.

I am going out to the track on Wednesday night, maybe to race, or maybe to watch. Either way I will talk to some of the Ford folk and see what all they have going. Again I appreciate the advice and time to respond to my post.

Dan.

Oh thank god dude, I thought you were talking on the bottle. N/A your 12.9 second estimate sounds better. Thank you for clearing that up for me... I was going to end up shooting myself if I didn't hit 12s on the bottle with my setup... I'll be running it on the track soon (fingers crossed).

I was going through the list in the sticky above and it looks like it takes quite a deal of work to get to or below 13.5 am I right?

It sounds like gears + install ($500), Catted SLP Midpipe ($305) Pypes Catback ($340) and intake ($225) and SCT chip ($270) = $1640
It can be done with sticky tires. Your trans will take some abuse to get there cause you will have to launch at a high rpm. Good luck.

If your wanting to do a build with the least possible expense skip the catback and intake boltons, and do tires/suspension. The catback and intake boltons give you VERY little on a bolton only car, while tires/suspension will make a much bigger difference.

I think your being just a BIT optimistic about mid/low 11s on the stock bottom end with your mods. you might get a 11.90+ with a great run and a really sticky tires, but low 11s are definatly wayyy out of reach, espcially on the 1.75 (at best) 60's your going to make without destroying the stock 8.8

To achieve a 13.3 with just gears, CAI, intake plenum and tires, your gonna need one hell of a driver mod and probably slicks. Most people will barely break 13's with these mods. You would need catback, midpipe, headers, and good tune with some very sticky tires to hit low 13's.
