Dump it, don't slip it. Bring revs to 3500 rpm, dump the clutch and floor it. Don't go past redline of course, but keep it under that and just let 'em burn.

to add to the above, apply the brake with the left foot (after dumping the clutch and getting the tires spinning)just enough to keep the car creeping along, try to keep it around 4-5k rpm.

mine had 3.27's and I would always do a burnout in 2nd. We got crazy one time and chocked the front wheel and i started burning in 2nd and then slammed into third. It had absolutely no problem. speedo was saying 115 at 5500rpm, and i was sitting still

The best and safest way to do a burnout in a manual car is with a linelock. Doing it without a line lock puts stress on the brakes and on the clutch. Eventually, youll burn up both.

He probbably doesn't have line lock, thats not really something ppl add to their car unless your hitting tens.

If you spendany time at the track whether you run 10s or 17s, you should add a linelock if you heat up your tires. It only cost around 150 or so. Its a cheap investment that pays for itself when you consider replacing a clutch...
