to the original poster, why dont you save yourself the money, and just buy a ***** implant, then your car wont need 700 horses just make sure it doesnt get in the way of the steering wheel
I arleady did this but now I got use to it so I want more!! Seriously though, It was just a question to see what route I want to go before I spend a crap load of money and at the end I will end up selling stuff cause I wanted to go a different route. I agree with most on here, that say 700hp on a DD is bit off the top but it is not impossible from the comments Ive read. The new Shelby will come factory with 700hp (as advertised) and that will be streetable. But gathering all the info that you guys have given, I think I will go for more like 500rwhp. As someone commented (forgot who and too lazy to go back and search) "500rwhp on a car that wont spin > 700rwhp on a car that will spin".
The big difference is that you a 2V car, they are a lot harder to get big numbers from.

Saying a 700 hp car is "not streetable" is like saying a Hayaybusa isn't streetable because it makes too much power compared to a Vespa. Come on now, just because you have 700hpdoesn't mean you can't drive the car ( Keep your damn foot out of the throttle, and drive normal...) There are plenty of 2JZ Supras/terminators etc..(mostly forced induction cars) running around that are plenty streetable with 700 hp+.....and some of them even have the A/C toblow in there face still...Now on a 2v 700 whp is probably pushing it for a DD just due to its "pulling teeth" effect to get power out of the thing...And yes, if you live in an area with snowfall, don't be a water head and go take your 8000HPiMpOrT eater out, stay home and wait for a better day...Not every car "needs" fox body springs, a/c delete, weight reduction, cage, etc..just to be driven with a high amount of horsepower..There are plenty of 200whp cars out there that arent street friendly due to the "only care being having a car that can handle like its on rails but shatters your spine on every bump..." it is in the eye of the beholder.....it is all in the set up of the car and what the owner has in mind for it...Some can take annoyances better than others.....I was raised on, that cars were meant to be driven and not to be trailer queens....but thats just me...[&:]
Not to be a jackass, but this is spoken like someone that has not owned/attepted to DD a high horsepower car.

Its not like the car drives just like it did at 250 WHP when it has 700+... even staying out of the throttle.

Even with only 420 WHP, the car still idles rough, has a stiff clutch, and has a extreme lack of torque around 750 to 1000 RPM (taking off easy). Its just not the same, but its hard to explain unless you have been in the car.

I would never dd my car at even only 420 WHP... you could probably do it and it would be ok, but the MPG in city is horrible, and once again, at only 420 WHP I am dammed near 15K into the hole in mods... gonna drive that everyday and let minivan mom door ding it? Let it sit outisde in the rain? I don't think so.

This would be the easiest way and cost the least amount.

Factory H.P. 260
NOS Fogger 450 HP. Shot
Equals 710 H.P.

Good luck man!!!!!

p.s. Make sure you bring a shovel and wheel barrel to collect all of the scattered parts. But at least for that split second you can tell everyone you had a daily driver that made a whopping 710 H.P.

I see your point, but I was raised on if you have the horsepower, you better be able to back it up on the street or track.

I all see your point Code, there is no point in having a car with that amount of power to and can'tget it to the ground..But some people only care about horespower numbers and that is their own ignorance...A prime example would be 400hp hondas (that only weigh about 2400lbs) that can't break into the twelves because of traction....

I never said you should do it, I said you could if you really wanted too...As a DD that would be pushing it, but as a "nice weather car" why not....I also said a 700hp 2v would "probably" not be a practical DD...I said there are however many "700hp supras/terminators/skylines etc..." that are driven on regular occasion....Pretty much to clarify what I said...."You can do whatever your mind is set to do.." Opinions are like ********, everyone has one..

and yes, I've owned a couple of unpractical decently higher horespowered cars( Not anything too crazy)..and my mustang is the slowest thing I've owned besides my old civic...but with "newer technology" and comfort I do not see it as unfeasable...

Anything above say 500 or so whp in a 2v is just going to be too much to handle for a DD. The MPG is going to suck, its going to have terrible easy take off torque, stiff clutch, etc etc. If you have not been in one/owned one or at least taken a ride in one that was being driven easy you just don't understand.

It could be done... but nobody with a brain is going to do it for long. Regardless of your situation, if you can afford to build a 500+ WHP car you can afford to buy a cheap DD for MPG.. if you don't your just stupid.

yea i dunno if it would be practical but it sure is possible. Also u would probly need high octane race fuel and making it a DD at that point is just stupid. Either way if ur gonna do it, get a beater. I got me a 88 Escort Pony for 150 bucks....oh yea 35 MPG!!! Loving it.

i daily drove 440rwhp no problem before... every day, rain or dry... with 440rwhp, unless you have cams, your car wont have problems taking off... hell, even with stage 3 cams (not getting into power till 3500rpms), my car still drives fine. i just drove it in the rain 10 min ago and the drag radials were fine and the car had no traction problems what so ever... its not blown yet, but the blower wont cause it not to be driveable, its the tuning and cams.... but i think any cam can be driven to an extent... if i went with to much rougher like a stage 4, i probably would only drive on nice days, but how it is... it will be fine. and gas mileage isnt to bad... since i replaced my 02 sensors, im getting 12-13mpg untuned.

Guys..ya'll are smokin' crack. 700rwhp in a daily driver???A street car and a streetable car are 2 different things.
there was an article in a mag ive got laying around here somewhere where the guy dropped a 351 turbo into an sn95. pushed 800 rwhp and he drove it to work and in rush hour traffic.
