So my brother's getting another LS1...it's a 98 w/a lot of susp. work, 6 speed, a SLPlid, a granatelli mass air sensor, and that's pretty much it from what he knows...how bad is he going to beat me when we race? I see you have an auto trans, which is kinda a henderence in stock form. As you sit, u r probably running a 13.8 at best so to run with an LS-1, u will need a 34-3600 stall converter, cams and maybe a bit of porting to your heads. LS-1's are heavy hitters in the higher rpms, so its important to get a great launch (converter will do that) and still pull hard up top (heads/cams will do that). You can have a high 12 sec car with a combo of all the mods mentioned. Adding boost will only help make better gains as well, but nitrous, though cheaper, will cost more in the long run. A KenneBell makes for a tough street car off idle, but centris are pretty good as well once boost builds. Good luck.
