I think the gas pedal mod ****ed up my TPS. A Ford tech who is around my age (20) who also owns a Mustang advised against it.

How long did you make your "spacer?" It seems I only have about 3/4" of slack after I raise the gas pedal.

What a crappy place to have to squeeze yourself into huh?!

Well from what the mechanic told me the computer relearns it's idle by what the sensors send it. The mechanic said the mod might have took too much slack out and made the TPS read wrong. So basically the computer thinks the throttle is open farther then it is and makes my idle hang. It may not have messed it up but he was just suggesting it to me. I took the mod off my car and took the battery cable off to reset my comp so I will see what comes out of that.

you might have taken too much slack out of the cable, and had the cable pulling on the throttle just barely. im sure that would throw it off.

That's nonsense, assuming that you didn't get the cable so tight the throttle couldn't close there's no way the PCM could know how much slack is in the cable...

you have to raise the gas pedal with your hand, and then get your other hand up there and pull the rest of the slack until you get it all out. just make sure you dont pull to hard, otherwise the throttle will be open a little bit. just enough for the slack to tightenup.i had a little more then an inch of slack. and yeah i feel bad for bigger guys. im only 17 at 160lbs and it was tough for me to get into that small spot. i cant imagine how it is for bigger guys lol.
