I have a 2001 mustang gt and i installed a B&M short shifter it said it was for a T-45 trans and come to find out now i have a tr 3650 but it fits does anyone think that will cause any problems in the future

I don't know the exact difference between the two, but obviously there is some or the manufacturers wouldn't makedifferent units. George at MGW would know for sure, and would probably help you out even though you didn't buy from him--since I infer from your message that it bolted on OK and works the difference may be something subtle and less than perfect, but OK nonetheless...[/align][/align]For future reference Ford changed from the T-45 to the 3650 in the middle of the 2001 model year. I don't know if there is a specific VIN cut-off, however I found this on the web some time back:[/align][/align]

1. If you have a 2001 Bullitt or Cobra then you have the TR-3650 tanny.
2. If you have a 2001 GT, then look on your driver side door jam, there will be a build code sticker. If you have a 'K' under the 'TR' code, then you have the TR-3650 tranny. Else you have the older T45 tranny.
3. If you have a 2002 GT, V6 or Cobra, then you have the TR-3650 Tranny.
