removing air filter silencer?
I have a 96 GT and i have the stock air intake but with a fram air hog filter, but i heard people saying to remove the silencer in it for more power. Where is the silencer and how to remove it and will if affect my daily driving?

i dont know if 96's even have the silencer. but it's basically the plastic piece that reaches into the fenderwell. Just pull it off. It pops right off. It won't affect anything.

actually, sucking in hot air from the engine compartment doesn't help either.
Don't remove the silencer completely, rather cut the opening so it's flush with the fenderwell. It opens the snout quitea bit and still keeps out the engine heat.

well, when i cleaned it last time and i left it out to sit the neighbors cat chewed it up. Then the auto store i went to didn't have a K&N so i went with this cause they said it's no different.

i actaully feel a little power difference! I didn't think it would be noticeable. Any other "FREE" or cheap power adder ideas would be greatly appreciated
