About to go to my tuner to get a tune
Ok I can't afford a dyno tune right now. My motor is currently being built and I want to upload a tune in my car when I get it back. My mods are: forged J&E pistons, comp stage 1 cams, ported heads, and full exhaust. My final compression ratio is going to be around 10.4-10.5:1. Is there anything special I would have to get the guy writing my tune to do? Would my car run ok without a re-tune?

I have an SCT tuner and I got it from Evolution Performance so I was just going to go up there and get Fred to write me a tune.
Oh yeah I do plan on getting a full dyno tune in a few months.

Ok cause the shop that is building the motor told me I would need a tune. Obviously a dyno tune would be the best but it would have to wait til after Christmas.

Yes you will need a custom tune. With higher compression + cams + bored engine (they did bore it right)+ P&P heads = to many changes for the computer to run correctly. It will be driveable without it but not run great.

Yeah they bored it .020 over. They did a slight polish on the intake side and a port job. So if I go to my tuner and tell him the mods can he write me a tune?

Ok, yeah he writes a lot of tunes for Mustangs and his place has the first GT500 in the 9s (Evolution Performance) so I hope I can trust him. Thanks for the tip about running octane boost. I was planning on doing that when I got the car back. I should tell the place to drain the old gas that has been in it since July and put in enough 93 to get me to a gas station.
