Not sure what you mean by "1 - 4 barely get you anywhere" unless you mean you are going thru the gears too quickly. Are you looking for taller gearing? Do you drag race? The perfect gear depends on what you want.... I also have 3.73's right now, and like them. I had 4.10's before when I first installed the procharger and were just too steep, spinning everywhere.

Who makes 3.75 gears? And 3.55 is a great gear for someone wanting to drive a lot. A PC car is a bit more violent than a Vortech car so i wouldn't suggest 4.10's. So either get happy with what you have or swap to an auto.

I think he means that he's shifting a lot and its not getting him anywhere.

I personally like 3.27's . But for most people that not enough, but I prefer top speed to quick accel, I still run 13's so I dont care.
Only bad thing about running a taller gear, the torque multiplication happens in the trans rather than the rear end, so you have to be nice to your trans or itll blow the f... up.

As forthe OP, 3.55 might be ok, but there isnt a significant difference over the 3.73's you got in there.

Stick with 3.73's if that's what you meant. Never heard of 3.75's. Anything more with forced induction is probably too much.

3.73's are too much for a healthy N/A application, IMO. I dunno about you but going sideways while shifting into 3rd isnt a good time ......... Can be kinda scary at times.

WHat are 3.75 gears ???? 3.73 are a perfect set/up for street/strip. I even spin alittle more than I like and Im running 315 BFG-KD out back on 8lbs of boost(Procharger)

Ure opinion. Most everyone I know with N/A applications has 3.73 to 4.10. Mostly 4.10's w/out any type of power adders. To each his own. I was just suggesting that with his forced induction, he should probably run no more than 3.73's. Of course it all depends on what all his plans are for his ride.

For a non turbo or sc car 4.10's are really quick and for SC's or Turbo's 3.73's are pretty common setup.

I have 4.10's now but will go 3.73's once my Whipple gets installed!

It does not say if he is forced or N/A? If it's a GT it won't have a SC unless it was installed aftermarket, right? Or are there any 99GT's that came with SC's or Turbo's? None that I am aware of other than Cobra's right?
