Default Tach Question

I just got an aftermarket 5" tach with a shift light, I have a 97 GT. Is it just following the wiring or do I need a tach driver, since I have a seperate coil pack set up..? Hows that work? Thanks.

There is a tach in your cluster right next to the speedo.

Gee, Thanks jmac. Thats not what I asked though, I was asking about wiring. And my stock tach has problems, and recently died on me.

I dont mean to be an ***, but my search feature never works. ALl I'm asking is a simple question and I dont know why anyone cant just give a simple answer. Does my 97 gt require a tach driver or is it just straight wiring.

Here is a link to one for 99-04 GT's: http://www.mcrparts.com/shop/1999-04...r-p-17771.html

The owner of MCR is a good guy. Just give him a call and tell him that you have a 1997 GT and that you are looking for a Tach adapter for that.
