Default RE: Supercharger Question

Most performance shops around the country will you about 385-390 rwhp is about it. We pushed our luck with an 2003 GT and popped the rods at 437 rwhp. So we now limit it to 385-390 just to be safe.

Why is the Procharger so sh_tty? Is this something you're sure of?
I personally haven't had any major problems with the P1, YET, but probably 80% of the people I talk to on here seem to think that the ProChargers are crap.. One big thing is that they're rated for 30+ Psi, but you can't push anymore than 12-Psi without risking impeller failure.. [&:] I've also heard that the stage 2 intercooler kits like the one I have don't do such a good job.. I was thinking about upgrading to a D1 maybe, because I'd like to be able to push between 16-18 Psi in boost once I get the forged rods.. Thing is, how much will that cost? Are the D-1's self contained like the P-1's? I know the F-1's aren't.. If so that's going to mean a secondary oil pump, plus a pan-tap and probably a separate reservoir, which is going to be more money on the install.. If I could just change out the the blower unit that would be great..
