Default For guys with BBK UDP's (past or present)

Have you guys ever had a probelm with your BBK under drive pulleys? I ask because I have a set of pulleys (BBK) that I have had for about 3 months but I have been very aprehensive in using them because every where I've read said that they were piggy back and to avoid using them. Any positive or negative input would be appreciated.

I see in your mods list you have a short throw shifter. Does it help your 1/4 mile time?

The BBK's are really not that bad. I have steeda's($100 used)and would only reccomend them but if you already got the BBK's throw em on. The only diff is that they are 'piggyback' style which means you got to attack the new crank pulley to the old one. People will say that this is added rotational mass to the crank, its really not. The steeda crank pulley weighs about the same as the bbk and stocker combined. I also read today that the bbk alternator pulley is bad... its not. Same as steeda. But if you wanted to you could try selling them and buying a used steeda set it up to you but i'd just throw em on.

Been researching this subject for the past couple of weeks...Bottm line is that BBK is a piggy back system and is not as good a design as the Steedas or March UDP systems. Would I recommend you replace them...certainly not. If you do a search there are plenty of guys on this sight who have BBK's and are satisfied with the results. Kinda "if it ain't broke" approach.

I am getting ready to purchase mine and will probably go with Steeda.
