Default PI Swap-Worth it or not?

OK-Newbie checking in.

I did a search and found alot of info on how to do the
swap,But really want to know if it is worth it.

Just so everyone knows my story I have a
1998 Mustang GT Vert.

And i just feel like it needs more power.

The last Stang I had was a 1967 Mustang GT W/289 Hi Po.
Man do I miss that car.

But anyways the money issue for the swap is not
the problem. But wondering if it will feel any different is.

I would rather not go the S.Charger route or Nitrous so I
figured this may be my best option.

Thanks for any input...

Look at the difference in stats from your 98 GT to a 99-04 GT. I believe it's a difference of 60hp. I forgot how much lb/tq you gain.

Definitely worth it. I don't know a ton about the SN95, but why not step up to stage 3 heads with a better manifold? That would take you a step above a New Edge mustang, rather than be even with one.

theres only a 40hp difference but also a much better power curve. npi gt's are skat without a pi swap.

reason for not going better is price. you can get everything for a pi swap for a few hundred bucks...compared to 1500+ just for some stage3 heads

I gained 72 rwhp with a PI swap and tune. I can't remember what my torque was at before I did the swap, but I'm making numbers in my sig now with stock PI swap, tune, cat back, mid pipe, tb, and intake.

Woah, you are running around with a PI swap without tuning?

That is a ticking timebomb man. Not only are the cams different, the manifold flow a TON better, but you bumped the compression up considerably.

Get that thing tunned, even if it is just a canned tune for now.

I thought a PI swap in a non-pi 4.6 GT brought your HP up to what a stock Pi-GT has. Am I wrong there or what?
