Getting A 2003 Cobra
I don't know if anyone remembers but, I posted a message a couple of weeks ago about my 2000 Mustang GT that got it's doors blown off by a 2003 Cobra at my local track. After that happened I just knew I had to have one. Well, it looks like I'm finally getting one. I should have it in about a week or so. I'm just curious as to what you guys think I should do as far as mods. I happen to be fortunate enough to live just 50 miles south of Steeda Autosports in Pompano Beach Florida which is where I had all the work done on my Mustang GT. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Exhaust, and gears, for starters. You'll already have the blower so you don't have to worry about that, unless you want to get a pulley which will increase boost. Depending on if you have emissions laws where you're at, consider long-tube headers if you don't have to smog. K&N filter, synthetic oils (engine and drivetrain), and a big fat sticker that says "YOU LOSE!" on your rear bumper. <IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"></P>
You're a lucky guy...wish I could afford a '03 Cobra. </P>

yea what he said, just less emphasis on the gears as they already come with 3.55's. Now if it were me, in would go 4.10's, but 3.55's are not a bad starting place.<edited><editID>mdvaldosta</editID><editDate>37910.3937962963</editDate></edited>

will Iwould stay where your at and use the down payment $$$$ to install a vortech
don't to take in account for high taxes and the tax when you buy the car with buy you a sweet *** exhaust
md...4:10's on a s/c stock.....you won't gain much due to wheel spin...'55's are the ticket all he has to due it put on a 10 psi pulley much cheaper and an easy swap back if he doesn't like it<edited><editID>vfast</editID><editDate>37910.4258564815</editDate></edited>

4.10's on a blown Stang???? I thought that it'd wind out way too fast w/'em. I'd use the 3.73's to get the most out of the mods, or better yet...leave it alone, and get a blower pulley, cat-back, mid-pipe,computer chip, call it a day. I've dumped a lot of cash into my '02 cuz I NEED to increase the power, but there is not much I'd do to the '03 Cobra aside from what I mentioned to ya above.

Man!! I had a locator going for a 2003 Cobra and they couldn't find ANY for me...<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"></P>
3.23 are debatable. Gear selection on a blown car has a lot to do w/how much boost is going to be run, and what type of blower the car will have. Read: roots, or centrifugical</P>

4.10's on a roots s/c car('03 cobra) will be difficult to drive since the boost is instant.MPG is already pretty low on it not to mention and premium gas is priced higher than giraffe pu**y these days. The stock 03 cobra already hauls a** and getting more power is just a matter of a pulley swap, exhaust and a few other mild mods.
