first you need to tub the car and get some slicks!!!! You could probably almost beat him with just that mod!!!!! Other than that i would do a twin turbo kit and some botom end/stroke work done professionally. but other than that you should win this one!!! Definately need to tub/slicks first and some 4:10's are a must.

with 15K and the right set-up i have a good feeling you'll pull it out, go with the kenne bell 2.2L kit. prolly one of the best kits out there in my opinion, and im sure you'll end up loving it. besides you'll have a nice mercedes you'll be rolling around in. lol. good luck man, let us know how it works out.

What's the price of the kenne bell? I'm also not familar with the term "tub out". Does that mean take everything that's not needed out like a/c, rear seats, etc? I'm glad I have some believers out there. I have a feeling that I will take him too! It just dosen't seem like it will be that hard with his inexperince and his cars weight. Similar to the eclispe and SRT-4 weight advantage, if I can get close to his 493hp at the crank, something like 480-490 at the wheels and get traction I really belive that I can take him. It's a two of three race so I will have 2 chances (and so will he) to win. My birthday is tommorow so I am expecting a little extra money. I going to get 3.73 gears, Trans go shift kit, and predator dyno tune. I can't wait to find a place that has a dyno. The saleman told me my stang with the mods is about 300hp at the crank. Rwhp would have been more helpful but it has a cai, pullies, and a mean exaust already so I know whoever had it was serious. I'm not sure but buy the way it takes off possibly a stall convertor. I can't hunt down the previous owner but I would like to know what all has been done before I start buying things that have already been installed. As soon as I get time and tools I will try to find out as much as I can about my car. Oh, yeah I found a reciept for a predator tuner in the back under the spare tire. I don't know if it has been used for this car or not. I use 89 ocatne without any knocking but should I use a higher octane to be safe?

P.S. The salesman also told me it has gears installed but he said he didn't know what size. He probably was lying to sale me the car.

That my friend is "tubbing out" pretty much 2 wide a$$ tires, and if you do this be prepared for alot of cutting and trimming :P but hey you wont have to worry about traction, and BTW go with the KB 2.2!

You for damn sure should be able to make a 12 second car with 15K. My buddies uncle has an AMG and ran a 12.6 here at Beech Bend Raceway. It took a bottle fed vette to take him down.

I don't understand what you're worried about. For 15K you can make a friggin' monster. just turn it into a dragger and turn his amg into a spec in your mirror. that is if you don't ditch the mirror for weight.
