RE: Stick or Auto, Advice please!
Have you thought about telling the owner of the 5sp car that you've found the automatic GT, and that you'll give him/her/them a chance to sell you the car if they bring the price down a bit?
I had never driven a stick before when I test drove the '97 GT I looked at. I'm so glad that I did not get it and instead waited (though only 4 hours to find mine in a magazine) instead of hopping right into an automatic.
I would almost always recomend the lower mileage car in a situation like this, but if there is any chance you think that you're going to regret going with an automatic instead of a manual, I would have to say hold off on jumping on the '02 here.
I would still let the seller of the '03 manual know that you're looking at a car with 15K less miles for the same price and see if they're willing to negotiate at all.

RE: Stick or Auto, Advice please!
Well, you havent told us the price of this 5sp you're looking at now have you?
I would say that a '03, with 50K , in good shape should be 11,500-13,000
I'd say this is the MOST you should pay.

RE: Stick or Auto, Advice please!
damn i would buy that auto in a heart beat!! honestly, if you test drive the two, a manual will be much more fun to drive, but if you buy and auto and do some tranny work i feel you will be much happier with it, a tune alone helps out alot!!

RE: Stick or Auto, Advice please!
i didnt read thru the 2 pages of posts....but just wanted to say...
manual pwnz auto
if you get the auto.....later (at some point) you will regret getting an auto and would have wished you got the stick.
soooooo much more fun to drive a powerful cat as a stick rather than auto. (imho)
