Default First real car

Hello everyone, I just receantly turned 17 and wanted to buy my first real car. When I got my learners I recieved a 2000 Ford Mustang Convertible (V6) 5 speed manual, which I would take to the track and run mid 15's (( Not fast but at the age of 16 it felt satisfying )) the mustang was stock for everything except the exhaust which was a Flowmaster. Moving on, I receantly soldit and bought a motorcycle because having to put gas in the tank with no help and not having a full time job was rather hard... and besides I always wanted a motorcycle and gas prices was all I need to confess my parents. Back to topic I wanted to get a 99-04 Mustang GT that I can build up for a fast drag car (( 11's - 12's )) but still street legal. I don't consider myself too great on knowing how to fix up a car (( Closest thing I did was build a gokart... [&o] )) What I had in mine was swapping the cams with another racing brand
(( Not sure which would be the best if ya'll could help me out )) add a supercharger / turbo (( Leaning towards the Supercharger but heard the turbo can produce some better drag times )) I have some other mods I was leaning towards but feel this would be enough. If ya'll help me out I would be very greatful and suggest and other mods that ya'll think would help. Thanks in advance! And I've heard that alot of people in my age group drag on road, ya'll have nothing to worry about; track is safer and you will know what you run which I like.

just slap on a supercharger and you'll be running mid 12's with any traction

Wow, that's all I gotta do? Cool, I might acturally beable to afford it! Kenne Bell are the superchargers on the 03-04 Cobra's right? Would that be the best one to make the most horsepower / torque?

on the 03-04 cobra is the eaton sc but many people swap them out for kenne bell. i believe kenne bell is the best but it is also most expensive, from what i have read kenne bell keeps boost all the way through the power band which may cost u some traction off the line. vortech and procharger are cheaper and kick in a little bit later but you sould get better traction. it all just depends what u want. just go to each one of their web sites and read up on them

if you can't afford the gas to put in a v6 mustang, then you probably wont be able to afford the gas for a 12 second car. keep in mind that you need to have a cage if you go below 12.00.

Ah, I was close.
What I've came up with is adding either a
Vortech V-4 XX-Trim Supercharger or a Big Bore 2.6L Kenne Bell Supercharger. Along with some Mickey Thompson Drag Radials (( Still street legal ))
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/hotnews/0511ch_mtpromo/index.html ( If ya'll suggest another brand let me know ))

For exhaust I found having a
BBK Longtubes, BBK O/R X-Pipe, Bassani SS Catback making a nice sound.
Add a Tripple Pillar along with a dash pod gauges (( Off of the Kenne Bell website ))
Also wouldn't mind adding smoked tail and head lights for it making it all black.
Then for cams I heard can increase the car's horsepower by alot but I have no idea what brand would be best.

This is more of a wishlist that I'm aiming for. I found a 2002 Ford Mustang GT 5 spd that is for sale at my cousin's shop with only 35k miles and will sell it to me for 5,000. If ya'll have tips on how I can make it faster or suggestions from different brands let me know I'm really wanting to make a street legal 11 - 12 second car if that's possible. Thanks in advance guys! Ya'll have been very helpful.

And I can hopefully afford the gas, I am working a full time job at the moment while it's summer then when school begins I'll go back to part time. Then my parents (( I sound young / dumb for saying this )) agreed as long as I keep above a C they will help pay for gas, so hopefully that will solve the issue.
