yea 4.6 vs lt1 ive heard is a drivers race...well the 99-04 4.6's anyways

no stock mustang yet has touched an ls1 cept for the 03-04 cobra....its sad but even the 05 cant beat a stock LS1[:@]

Well LS1's are very sneaky cars...You could see one driving down the street and blow the doors off of that stock LS1 in your modded stang....And you can also try to do the same thing to, what you thought was also a stock LS1 and he will pull like 10 cars on you. You cant always tell with those bastards...SAME WITH THE 03-04 COBRA'S
you mean same with the fox bodies. them buggers are wildcards. they're either stock and driven by an old person, or they're modded to hell running 10s-11s.

I still have my 1995 Z and let me tell you that the LT-1 is bullet proof and an awesome motor! The 4.6 will probally last longer due to the fact that it is an overhead cam motor. Thery are all good motors.

No, I have a 2001 GT Girlfriends car, and my SS. Heads and a cam it made 449 rwhp with old cam. Have yet to loose to a cobra, mach1 and a 550hp WHATEVER lightining. The 4.6 N/A is ok, but I had 79k before I put my mods on. Now its insane. Never a problem, except pwr window motors. Stock even air filter it did 2.6 60ft 13.4 at 105.9. I ran it that one time. 2.6 60ft and still 13.4 at 105. LS1 is very, very strong. Good luck. There is always someone faster! LS1 is the B E S T foundation to start modding, except 03/04 Cobra and only b/c its equiped with the s/c already, if you had to buy a s/c I would say no-way. Now I have 93K, 550+hp and not one single motor trans problem. Watch out for the rear when you put slicks on with a 4:10 gear.

You've never raced a modded 03/04 cobra.

They're all different engines. You can't compare them. They 4.6 and LT1 are about the same stock but the LT1 is a better choice because of going rate right now. The LS1 is great foundation but remember that you quickly outgrow the rest of the drive train. It depends on the goals you have. If you're looking for a car that is a great price and cheap and easy to mod then look for a 03/04 cobra.
