Gears = Good
Your current suspension/tires = ****e
Get some tires and put some time into learning how to launch your car with the new set up.. Guaranteed success..

Cisurfer what are you 60 foot times? If they got worse it because you're not hooking up.
If you're times dropped with the gears it's because the gears highlighted your weak point...suspension and traction. Start there.

time to do more to the suspension....possibly look into upgrading the fallowing:
shocks/struts
upper and lower control arms for the rear
full length sub-frame connectors
these should help out with traction a bit.

You have to consider the time of the year. It is getting hotter and more humid now that Summer is here, so your times are going to suffer. . . especially if you are comparing them to times ran in cooler weather.
