Default So I finally did the gas pedal mod...

...and wow, what a difference! It only cost me $1.40 for the nylon spacer and hose clamps, and 2 hours of time, and it was well worth it. The accelerator pedal is about an inch higher, almost in line with the brake pedal like it should be. When I mash it, I can tell I'm getting WOT now, instead of just hitting the floor. If anyone hasn't done this yet, I highly recommend it. [sm=signs007.gif]

I remember when I did that on my 6 pot. It made a huge difference because the cable was so streched I couldnt go past 1/3 throttle.

Hate to brake it to you, but you are hitting WOT no matter what unless you cable is stretched. The pedal height is just better.

Mine was actually stretched pretty bad, I would hit the rug before it would come close to the WOT stop. I used a 1.25" spacer on it.

I did it and love it. Agreed, it's much easier to hit WOT this way. Before my floormat would get in the way.

I used the nylon spacer, but the hose-clamps were a pain. It's currently held on by duct tape, but I'm thinking of moving to zip ties.

ah the gas pedal mod....one of my fav's that ive done as well. big difference....i had to re-do mine over the past weekend due to one of the zip-ties finally breaking after months of abuse. goes to show the mod should break and go back to normal pedal height, before the cable breaks....for anyone with questions about snapping the cable.

Where can I find the how-to on this mod? I've been wishing that my gas pedal was more in line with the brake's for a long time now...So I can practice some heel toeing and also so that I can rev my engine a bit as I brake to a stop
