Default never buy accell coil packs!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys i've posted a couple threads lately about my car missfiring badly around 3000 rpms. bought accell coils and new wires 3 days before car started acting up to try and fix another missfire. brought it to a ford dealer and they coudln't figure out what was going on. so i picked up my car today and figured i would stop by a junk yark and grab me some stock coil packs to try them out. took some off a lincoln and slapped them on. car runs perfect. Accell coils are crap i gues oem parts really are the best thing for our cars

I've heard mixed reviews on them. My brother runs them on his Lightning with no problems. Performance coils wont really do much anyway unless you are heavily modified. For a bolt on GT, stock coils FTW.

i've only had a problem with one coil - and that's only because water got down the plug well and killed it, but other than that i don't have any complaints

I have them and the only problem i had was that one failed on me about a week after i got it. No problem, they have a 1 year warranty and i sent it back and they sent me a new one. Car runs fine now. On that note, sxynerd is correct when he made the statement about OEM coils. If i knew someone who was willing to trade me there stock coils and cash, i'd probably do it..........................WTF! Ignore that last statement, the hydrocodine is kicking in.

I agree totally with your statement!! I bought a set from A.M & one of them went bad & threw a c.e.l. I called A.M & they said the only ones that could help me was Accel. I called them & was told that they only had a 90day warranty!! I was told by numerous people it was a year but found out that Accel changed it to 90 days now!! Point being is now i have a box of 300.00 cop's that are of no use to me! Stay away from Accels, put stock back on & running strong as ever even with all my mods!!!

The part that sucks is that OEM are so much more expensive than aftermarkets. At least that was the case with my 5.4
