Hi guys, This is my first post and Im really hoping you can help me out. I have a 96 gt that is bone stock and within the last month it has started making some annoying noises, they sound like they are coming from under the passenger side dash section. The first is an air hissing sound that is constant as soon as the car is started and the second is a whistling noise that changes pitch and tone when i accelerate it tapers off once i get to about 3000rpm. I have had the car checked out by my mechanic and there are no vacum leaks or exhaust leaks or any trouble codes being thrown. The car drives fine but the noises just came out of nowhere and are driving me nuts, any help at all would be appreciated.

Do all your HVAC controls work properly?

Yeah all of my HVAC controls work fine. the heater blows hot and the ac blows cold. I have read a few other threads and it seems there might be an issue with the heater core possibly.

check pvc valve mine did same thing took me forever to find it

there mess of vacuum lines that run to the controls. Does the fan out selection work and work quickly like normal. Even if there is a leak in line the controls can still work. Its not the heatercore unless you smell coolant and/or get it on your carpet. Are you sure its coming from inside the car? Smell anything when your stop and idling?
