EGR delete

I still don't understand what this mod does....
So the EGR is made to recycle exhaust gasses back into the intake....and for performance seekers like us, this is always a bad thing? Anyone know where I can find a how-to on this mod for my 04 GT?
Any power gains?
thanks!

the egr is a somewhat tricky sensor. its suppose to cool off the combustion chamber by putting exhaust in the intake charge. since their is less 02 in the cylinder, the explosion is cooler. but since the egr circulates hot exhaust gas back to the intake in makes the intake hotter, ever accidentally touch an egr? =( for us performance guys that is not good. also the exhaust that is recirc back in has some soot in it that tends to coat the inside of the intake manifold, that soot along with the pcv fumes nasty up the intake and slightly reduce air flow. the big plus i liked most was it cleaned up the engine bay by taking that big ugly sensor out and sheds a small amount of weight too.

Cool. So I read that the EGR valve closes when we are at like 50% and up in throttle so there aren't really any max power gains. But I assume it's better for regular driving and all.
I read that it relates to the vacuum hose....what does that do? Any how-to guides on how I am delete the EGR?

so im wondering if anyone has any detailed pics of the egr deleted with all lines removed on a 94-95 mustang. I removed my egr (forgot to plug the line, now it's loud as hell), but there are still vacuum lines hanging loose, and somebody else mentioned some things on the firewall. Some pictures of the complete system deleted would be nice. ( I also removed my sump system)
