found a killer deal on a precision industries torque converter (600$ seemed good to me)
was wondering if that would be to low if i should even bother with it
hmm... guess ill just be waiting to do that then. i found it for 600 in my area thought it was a good deal they normally run around 1000 right?
whats the stock stall rpm?
yeah ide def. go for a higher one i just found this one for a good price so i thought about it but think ill hold out until i can try to find one with a higher stall. i think the gt is at around 2000
fyi this is in clearwater fl if anyone is interested. precision industries as well.
A 2800 stall converter will only actually stall to about 2300. Usually the advertised stall is what it flashes at. I would def go with at least a 3500.
I think most people confuse the brake stall with flash stall. Converters are rated on flash stall, which is without hitting the brakes, just nailing the gas. It's also dependant on torque, a car with more torque will get more flash stall with the same converter.
Holding the brakes and seeing where the tires break loose is not an accurate measurement of stall speed.
