Default 2800 stall converter? to low?

found a killer deal on a precision industries torque converter (600$ seemed good to me)
was wondering if that would be to low if i should even bother with it

No. You should go no less than 3200, or else your wasting your money. I would go with something between 3200-3800 as a DD.

3800 or bust, I would go no lower than that. When I had an auto, 4200 stall in my daily driver, and it was great.

I know the Marauder/Mach 1 converter is around 2800, I would assume the GT is around 2500-2600ish, but that's just a guess.

A 2800 stall converter will only actually stall to about 2300. Usually the advertised stall is what it flashes at. I would def go with at least a 3500.

I think most people confuse the brake stall with flash stall. Converters are rated on flash stall, which is without hitting the brakes, just nailing the gas. It's also dependant on torque, a car with more torque will get more flash stall with the same converter.

Holding the brakes and seeing where the tires break loose is not an accurate measurement of stall speed.
