Did you fix your misfire (that was you right?)?
IMO - The harder you push a motor, of course the less life. But, if you upgrade the airflow, spark, fuel mixture - You should not hurt the car anymore. Things should actually wear no more. You are just improving the efficiency. Of course there is a spot you move past that barrier and start pushing it, you are far from there.
I would put things in like computer programming, CAI, TB, Upper intake, exhaust...
Although, you may be tempted to drive it harder the more you put on it.
Keep in mind though, and I am having this issue now - Anything you replace on a high milage car, will now be the strongest link. Example: Replace your clutch with a hard hitting one, next thing you know something else in your driveline goes.
Your car is only as strong as it's weakest part. I would start replacing parts there, and work your way up, if that makes sense. That is my method to the madness.

i wouldnt supercharge..i would do the suspension first being it has that many miles. the rubbber bushings have to be at there limit. but i would do gears, plenium, throttle body, intake manifold, headers, exhaust. if supercharging is a goal, i wouldnt add pulleys or a cold air, it would be a waste of money.

I dont see anything wrong with a cold air intake?
I mean he could remove his silencer and all, but a CAI will liven up any car.
Good air flow is never bad, right? Doesn't have to be "cold air" but a good intake elbow and filter I feel is in order for any car.
+1 on suspension.

i just dont want to get into a deal where i spend a bunch of money buying parts for this motor and then it dying. buying a new motor and then those parts be a waste... i guess i could always just swap in another 2v...

im just gonna go with an exhaust, super sport springs, new bushings and gears then call it a day until it blows up. those will transfer to the new motor atleast... ill just be really slow for a while
