Default Newbie needs help please

Good morning everyone,
I just bought my second mustang two day's ago and need a little help diagnosing a problem. When driving the front wheels sound like something is loose until I apply the brake and then silence. Once I left off of the brake then the noise starts again. Smooth roads are nice but any road with any bump or hole and the wheel makes a noise like maybe the caliper is loose or something. I thought that the center caps were loose because it sounds like a rattling cap but they're tight. Any idea what it might be? I have a 97 GT Vert. Any help you guys can give will be greatly appreciated.

Richard

It sounds like metal rattling together and I live in lexington. I looked under the car yesterday and it looks like it may have been wrecked in the front before. The steering feels a little off too.
