Default screamin demons

i just read an article on modded mustangs and there was a sticky about doing the whole screamin demon ignition upgrade and making a nice difference in power over the stock ignition.
http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...tallation.html

i just replaced my spark plugs and wires with autolitexp iridums and plugs from autozone.
my coils are still stock but with 112k on my car im sure it wouldnt hurt to replace my coils.

i was planning on getting the screamin demon coils, will they work ok with the plugs are wires i have now? i wanted to do the whole screamin demon ignition but i had to replace my plugs and wires when my intake cracked.

the one in the thread was modded pretty well. idk how modded your 96-98s maybe the more mods the more it helps?

im probably still gonna buy them since mine will most likely need to be replaced soon anyways.

im poor too. only reason i was thinking about buying them is cause my car has 112k on it and im sure it wouldnt hurt to buy new coils and if i got more power out of it like the link that would be well worth my cash.

if i wasnt id have a whole new bump performance engine and a whole fixed/redone car right now.

To get any benefit from the coil packs you will need to pull the plugs & regap them to what the coil instructions say..need wider gap than stock. I had the screamin demon coil on my 05 Ranger * it looked & worked nicely.

+1, the whole idea is to be able to run higher voltage so you can run wider plug gap.
Also, it will certainly be more effective on a boosted motor.

Rick, do you still have your ranger? I used to have an 04'. It was blown with headers back exhaust, suspension-the works.

No, got rid of it for the Stang...bad mistake but I was getting a bit wild out in the desert with it & was afraid I would get carried away 1 day & wreck it or break it.
