Question 4R70W overdrive problem

Okay, so I talked to a buddy of mine today and he can't get the overdrive in his stang to turn off. He has tried every which way to get it to turn off but it wont he says. Any ideas on what could be the problem, I am clueless. He has your typical bolt ons, CAI, catback, 93 tune. I don't know if it makes a difference with traction control being off or not. Oh and I'm pretty sure its an '02, I may need to check to be sure. Thanks guys.
