Default Exhauast clamps vs. Welding

If anyone has used clamps or knows about them for sticking in some new mufflers, let me know. Any advantages/disadvantages are appreciated and if you have any recommendations to brand/types of clamps.

welded is the way to go... Sturdy especially because we eventually scrape the bottom somehow. Clamp-on gives you do it yourself features, interchangeable, but are sometimes a pain to fit, clamps break/loosen and prone for exhaust leaks.

I agree, band clamps are the best compromise. The welded route sucks if you 1 break a weld bead or two want to swap things out.

id say go with clamps. my exhaust is clamped and it makes it easy to swap out mufflers if you wish or to take the exhaust apart.

just make sure you have the clamps tight enough and hang everything up right and you wont have any problems

The first one you have listed, used to use that style on bus/truck diesel's all the time and they are great. I like them very much

I like the clamps stlcardsfanp posted. I have a friend that used cheapo clamps and ended up ripping his mufflers off and dragging them backwards on the ground because he went over a bump and the clamps rubbed.
