Default clutch question?

yeah i got a v6 but a clutch issue is a clutch issue. Basically my pedal responds different everytime i get in the car, some days its really soft and light and then the next day its really hard to press, and it goes everywhere in between. it feels like its not disengaging and sometimes its hard to put it in gear but all the way but theres no slack or twisting/binding in the cable. i cant really look to see if its been knocked out of place because i dont have a lift. anyone had this happen or know what it might be? and yes ive been a bit rough on it before cause someones gonna ask. Thanks yall

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the answer is going to be "that's just the way a cable clutch is"

Mine does the same thing. Both when it was stock and now as a Spec Stage II with replaced quadrant.

If there is a solution, I'm in, because mine still does it.

This sounds like the clutch fork is partially sliding off of the pivot ball in the bell housing.

Try this.... jack the car up so you can get access to the cable connection at the side of the bell housing. Remove the aluminum cover and push the fork straight inward into the bell housing. If you feel it move inward slightly, jump in and see if the clutch is now easy to oporate.

This happened to me and was a total PITA to shift sometimes and would either grind going into gears, or just not disengage completely. Let us know if this helps situation.

If that solved the problem, it will likely return, unfortunately...

The clutch fork is sliding 1/2 way off the pivot bolt and being "driven" into the sleeve in which the TOB travels. When this happens, you get the resistance and your clutch does not travel the full distance to disengage the trans. Mine did this and took me a while to figure it all out, so this pivot bolt was damaged. You may be able to get away with pushing it back inward for some time, I just don't know.
